NINE ELMS: PAST AND PRESENT
A CHOCOLATE FILMS PROJECT

Discover the lives, communities, industries and culture that make up London’s newest district: Nine Elms.

Nine Elms: Past and Present is ongoing series of documentaries about this part of South London - the city's fastest changing area. Nine Elms has developed from a post-industrial landscape into a new city within a city in just a few years.

9 Elms, the North side of Battersea was once London’s engine room, with power stations and factories lining the river. By the 80s industry left the city, and the space was used for depots and warehouses. Now, the redevelopment has brought 22000 new homes, the Apple EMEA HQ, The US Embassy and two new tube stations.

These films tell the story of the people of 9 Elms - those that lived and worked here before the development work and those who have moved here since then. The series includes films produced by Chocolate Films and by members of the community on workshops run by Chocolate Films Workshops.
