Century: 10 Women x 10 Decades
On 27 September 1000 Londoners returns to cinema with ‘Century: 10 Women x 10 Decades’, our inspiring season celebrating women in London and what it is like to be a woman in the city. After a run of sold out screenings, we are delighted to present this season at JW3 – the Jewish Community Centre in North London.
‘Century’ presents ten film portraits about brave, pioneering, funny and unique women from 0-100.
The subjects include a feminist studying to be a Rabbi; a Dame, knighted for her work in race relations; a wild swimmer; a young mum evicted from her home; a body builder; and a vascular surgeon.
Audiences will also get to watch rarely seen archive footage of women in London over the past century. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on ‘Women and Ambition’, with contributors in the films Dina Brawer and Jacqueline Palmer.
